How many inspections does a custom home require in Toronto?
A typical custom home may require approximately 15 to 25 municipal, ESA and professional reviews. The exact number depends on the house design, permit scope, structural systems, mechanical systems and site conditions.
Does Toronto inspect every stage of a custom-home build?
Toronto Building inspects the prescribed stages associated with the issued permit. Other work may be reviewed by ESA, engineers, surveyors or other authorities.
Who books the City building inspections?
The permit holder is responsible, although the general contractor or site supervisor usually manages inspection scheduling.
Can construction continue before an inspection passes?
